Befriending and care visits

Our dedicated volunteers are here to lend a listening ear, check in, or visit you in hospital or aged care.

Are you or your loved ones seeking a supportive community that values Irish culture and heritage, while receiving incredible support and care? The Irish Australian Support Association of Queensland is a non-profit organisation that can offer support to members of our community through our dedicated volunteer program.

Befriending

Our dedicated volunteers are from all over Ireland and understand how tough it can be living so far from home; they are ready to offer friendship and support. Whether it’s a phone call, sharing a cúpla focal as gaeilge over a cuppa, or simply someone to check in and have a chat, our volunteers are here to share their time, lend a listening ear, and brighten your day.

Care visits

Whether you’re in hospital, at home, recovering from an illness or injury, or living in an aged care facility, our staff and volunteers can provide care visits for people of all ages. We offer companionship, a friendly chat, someone to share stories with, or simply a supportive presence when needed. No matter your age or situation, we’re here to help you feel connected, supported, and reminded that you’re not on your own, especially when it matters most.
